Antisocial behaviour in Llanfairfechan

Police are appealing for information following a recent spate of incidents of criminal damage in Llanfairfechan.

Enquiries are ongoing in relation to the damage caused at Llanfairfechan Football Club, where offenders damaged the refreshment hut and changing rooms, ripped off the guttering and prised open the protective metal fencing on the windows. They have also written graffiti on the team dug out.

The payphone in the train station was also damaged sometime between the March 28th and 30th. And other reports of antisocial behaviour have included youths throwing rocks at houses and cars, as well as eggs being thrown at windows.

PCSO Nicola Jones said: “We have seen an increase in antisocial behaviour and criminal damage in the area. The football club in particular has had quite a lot of its property damaged. This is a hub in the community; the club is self-funded and cannot afford the costs of repairing everything.

She added: “We are currently working with multi agencies Cartefi Conwy and Conwy County Council to reduce these incidents but we need the community to help. We are asking people be extra vigilant and to report any antisocial behaviour on 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or contact the Control Room via the new live web chat on http://www.north-wales.police.uk/contact/chat-support.aspx.
