Presenters Andrew Welsh and Eilir Gwyn will be attempting to smash the world record for the longest continuous radio show. The record, currently held by Peter Van de Veire and Eva Daeleman from Belguim, stands at 100 hours.
Should Andy and Eilir reach their target, they will overtake the current time and be the new Guinness World Record holders for the ‘longest marathon for a radio music show by a team of two DJs’.
The presenters will be allowed up to 2 hours every 24 hours to take toilet breaks, freshen up and try to get some sleep.
Starting on the 15th August and running through to the 20th, the two presenters will be joined and supported by an army of local businesses, charities and personalities from the local community.
Janet Finch Saunders the local Welsh Assembly Member will officially start the record attempt. A whole host of bands and artists including; Sarah Wynn, Straight Jacket Legends, Stolen Property, The Jamie Porter Band and The Goodnight Sweethearts will also be popping in during the show.
The record attempt has had the full support of some of the local businesses, such as The Bluebell, The Albion, The Clockhouse, The John Nike Ski centre and the Denbigh Chocolate Shop along with many others.
The team are completing this record in order to also raise money for Tudno FM. Tudno FM is a registered charity and ran entirely by volunteers.
The show will be live on 107.8FM and broadcast online at http://www.tudno.co.uk between 15th August to 20th August.
